Snow is Falling, Books are Calling!

The Vilna & District Municipal Library is pleased to announce the 2018 Winter Reading Program, "Snow is Falling, Books are Calling!". The program will start on January 1st, 2018 and will run until February 28, 2018 for children under 9, teenagers, adults and seniors.

It has been proven that children who participate in programs like this one increase their capability for developing and maintaining their reading skills. The programs offered at the library encourage reading in a fun and enjoyable environment.

Northern Lights Library System is once again sponsoring the Grand Prizes this year of 6 Samsung Galaxy Tab A's. They will be awarded via a draw after the reading entries are submitted. Children under 9 will gain one entry per three hours of reading, five hours per entry for children between 10 and 13, and seven hours per entry for adults and seniors.

Although you do require a library membership (from any Alberta public library), reading from your own personal books, ebooks or audio books is perfectly acceptable. For young children, being read to by a family member is also encouraged – don’t be shy to sign up! All reading logs must be handed in no later than March 1, 2018 so that they may be sent in for the draw.

Please contact the library for registration forms and more information. Visit us on Facebook!
